Now that I am in my second trimester I made it a point to fill myself with as much information each day. To become a mum in just five months time is no joking matter. I need to get myself prepared just so we will not panic and our baby will feel safe in our hands.
My focus right now is preparing for our newborn. That alone can fill up an entire dictionary.
The topics revolving around my head these days :
1. The nursery : obviously we have to start preparing THE room to welcome our little one but I am sure Papa Rudd will say it is still early la. Come on only five months left and I am going to be 'fat and heavy' on the last two months , so technically I have only three months to do my research and field trips aka to baby fairs etc. So there is really not that much time left.
2. Baby essentials : the cot ( what type ?) , the diaper ( which brand ?) , the milk bottle ( which one dont leak ? no kidding there are some branded ones which leaks ! see I have done my homework ) , the clothings , diaper rash cream , bottle sterilizer , swaddle cloths , baby slings , receiving blankets , PRAM etc ...
Interesting fact : Quinny pram cost $1k , no kidding no pun intended.
3. Breastfeeding : this is a topic which I have not yet done an indepth research , so far I heard of the breast pump , breast pads , nipple cream , milk storage bags .. all are essentials to becoming an official " mummy cow" heh .
Interesting fact , Medela double breast pumps cost $998 ! so damn 'cheap' ! *fainted*
4. Mummy essentials : A diaper bag of course ! In fact I have already purchase one from Maternity Exchange, I am so excited to receive it.
One thing for sure , the shopholic in me remains unchanged.
