Crash Course : Baby 101

Here I am continually feeding my little brain with as much baby knowledge as possible. Interestingly enough or so I should have known , taking care of a newborn is not an easy feat. These are just some of the topics I have been filling myself with.

1. Breastfeeding ( you need to know when to feed , how much to give , how long to give and know how to latch the baby correctly ) If any of this step is wrongly taken it will lead to discomfort for baby and the poor parents.

2. Colic : uncontrollable crying in infant ( another interesting topic and apparently there is no cure of colic and where the challenge comes in , you need to handle the baby non stop crying as to which is harmless to the baby but HARMFUL to the parents ) I have learnt that a little massage does help and rubbing a bit of 'ruyi' oil to get rid of possible wind in the tiny body. If all else fail just cry along with the baby , see who can last longer.

3. Sleeping Routine ( There are just too many 'horror' stories of waking up in the middle of the night a few times and that is why I am INSISTING on following Gina Ford's CLB routine to get the little one to sleep calmly till 7am with one middle of the night feed ) The routine is strict and I kinda like it. Come on bring on the cane !

p.s. This is necessary to keep the parents and the child sane. Hubs need your help to make the routine work however hard it is going to be * crossing fingers *
